Emmett Amburgey

Bankruptcy attorney, Amburgey Law

I help people in the Roanoke Valley file Chapter 7 and Chapter 13, and stop the garnishments and foreclosures that send them looking for help.

I grew up in a house where the phone rang at dinner and nobody answered it. I didn't know then that the law had a way out of that, and most of the people who call me don't know it either.

I've practiced bankruptcy law for my whole career, and I keep the practice small on purpose: you'll have my direct line, and I'll be the one who answers it. I'd rather tell you that you don't need me than file a case you didn't need.

What I handle

  • Chapter 7
  • Chapter 13
  • Wage garnishment
  • Foreclosure

Why a small practice

Close to home, on purpose

The office is on Campbell Avenue downtown, a short walk from the bus station and with parking out back.

I meet people from Salem, Vinton, Cave Spring and the farms out past Bent Mountain. Some come in on their lunch break; some would rather talk on the phone from the truck. Either way, you get the same lawyer and the same plain answers.

The first talk is free and takes about thirty minutes.
